“Egyptian Writers’ Union” Celebrates the 92nd Anniversary of Egyptian Radio with a Seminar on “The Role of Radio Drama in Enhancing Cultural Awareness

The Scenario and Drama Division of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers’ Union is organizing a cultural seminar entitled “The Role of Radio Drama in Enhancing Cultural Awareness” at 7:00 p.m. next Sunday. The event is being held as part of the celebrations marking the 92nd anniversary of Egyptian Radio, under the patronage of Dr. Alaa Abdel Hady, President of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers’ Union and Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers and Authors.

The seminar will be chaired by broadcaster and writer Dr. Ahlam Abu Nuwara and will feature a distinguished panel of prominent figures from the fields of directing and the arts, including radio director Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, radio director Ayman Feteiha, and theater director Khaled El-Dahaby.

The event will also be enriched by insightful contributions from a number of renowned radio personalities, most notably broadcaster Zeinhom El-Badawy, broadcaster Dr. Nahed El-Tahan, and broadcaster Saad El-Qolei.

Dr. Ahlam Abu Nuwara, Chair of the Division, emphasized that the seminar is open to the public and welcomes intellectuals, academics, and all those interested in media and cultural affairs. She encouraged active participation in the discussions, which will explore the significant role of radio drama in shaping collective consciousness and fostering cultural development within society.

The Scenario and Drama Division

The Scenario and Drama Division responsible for organizing the event currently consists of Ahmed Farouk El-Hagan as Vice Chairman, with Ahmed Abu Taleb, Nasser El-Ezaby, and Magdy Bakry serving as members, the latter acting as Secretary of the Committee. Mohamed Khodeir serves as the Division’s Media Coordinator.

The seminar forms part of broader efforts to highlight the enduring cultural and educational impact of Egyptian radio, which has played a pivotal role in shaping public awareness and enriching Arab cultural life for more than nine decades.
